The Jeffrey Cox Quintet

Having honed his jazz skills (along with the rest of the group) studying with the faculty of the Georgia State Jazz Department, Cox has begun to show musical maturity beyond his years. While drawing from artists of all generations and genres, he maintains a forward-thinking mindset, and has crafted a unique writing style, which is seen in his unique originals and arrangements.  Don’t let his age fool you–Cox is the bandleader of one of the most gifted and talented jazz ensembles anywhere at any age.

The members of this quintet (including Andres Rovira on piano, Andrew Sommer on bass Jordan Holliman on Drums, and Morgan Guerrin on sax) have played together throughout their high school careers.  Now, before the majority of them depart for college music programs at prestigious schools such as New England Conservatory of Music and Julliard, they will perform a final show this summer at The Velvet Note.  This is your last chance to see them as The Jeffrey Cox Quintet this year as they perform their favorite selections, celebrate their collegiality and head off to new horizons.
