This precious little pup came to Angels from a high-kill rural shelter and when you first meet him, it is obvious that this little fellow brings a bit of “baggage” and a history of abuse with him, as many shelter dogs do.  You see, Beanie’s “flaw” – if he has one – is he doesn’t always do well when first meeting other humans or dogs.  It’s hard for Beanie to relax and be at his BEST when he’s at adoptions with his foster Mom, so it’s been a bit tough for this wonderful little fellow meet and find his forever family!

It isn’t that Beanie just doesn’t like humans or other animals, it’s that he’s truly afraid of them harming or hurting him badly, so he acts like a tough little guy in order to try and protect himself – at least in the beginning.  But his foster Mom, Denise, says of Beanie, “once Beanie knows and loves you, he is the most absolute doll!  If I didn’t already have other dogs of my own as well as fostered animals, Beanie would never leave my home or my heart!  He’s adorable, funny, loving, and gives my entire face kisses every chance he gets.”  Denise goes on to say that it “doesn’t take him long to figure out you won’t harm him, and once he does, Beanie trusts you with his whole heart and soul.”  It’s plain to see this little boy just needs humans who will grant him the “gift of time” to trust learn to trust his new family.

If properly introduced, Beanie gets along well with all dogs and humans.  He’s a bit too interested in cats, but is small enough that he cannot harm them.  He loves to play with his toys, and will chase the ball – he’s still learning how to bring it back – and adores running in the backyard.  His favorite pastime, though, is his “human” – he’s a wonderful little Velcro doggie who will be your permanent shadow.

Beanie’s ideal home would be one with adults or very mature kids, without heavy traffic in the home on a daily basis.  Beanie needs to feel secure and comfortable in his surroundings.  He walks on a leash but the bonus of a fenced-in backyard would be wonderful for this little peanut of a doggie.
