ReplyThe only way for Fulton Science Academy to receive that bond was to get Fulton County's approval first. FCSS approved it and Fulton Science Academy received the bond. Someone should tell FCSS to read the documents before singing them. For FCSS to approve the bond and then say "oh, we didn't know about this bond" is big embarrassment. This resembles to Fulton County abuse case where everyone was very concerned and Linda Schultz, Board president testified that she did not know students were abused by a special education teacher because she didn't read the investigative report!!!!!
I looked at the documents provided by Fulton County last year. In my eyes, they were totally discriminatory with their actions against FSA. Glassratner's report made everything very clear for me. See the report here: http://sandysprings.patch.com/articles/fulton-science-academys-probe-disputes-school-systems-audit-report-46c6abc1#pdf-10474440
Fulton County School System messed up so bad in this case that they still use each and every opportunity to explain themselves and to defend their actions. Too late.
Now they say, oh we are actually good with charters. Look we help other charters :)
Thanks to FSA, they will be good to charters for a while. There is no other way, they have to continuously defend themselves after what they have done last year.

ReplyWay to go! Wonderful job! Last year this school won 25th place in the nation. Considering there are more than 6,000 teams in the nation, it was a great achievement. I heard Principal Sener saying that the next goal is top 10 in the nation. I won't be surprised if it is achieved in a few years. :)

ReplyIt is all politics. Money, control and power...
I am actually happy for FSA High. They don't have to suffer under Fulton County School System three more years. They can carry their charter under the newly established state charter commission.
In my opinion, the sad part is that Fulton County School System bullies this schools and there is no oversight on Fulton County School System's wrongdoings.
Anyway, maybe it is all for good. Nationally recognized FSA middle converted to a private school and they do amazingly well. Maybe God thinks these dedicated admin and staff of FSA schools should work under better conditions. :)

I am confused. Why are they announcing 2011-2012 results on May 2013? We are living in the technology era. How can we really help our children when adults share the results after a year. It would be much more meaningful, if we were able to access 2012-2013 results at this time. We should really have higher expectations from our department of education. I wonder if they have an explanation to this.
