Janet Shan, Neighbor

I am a commercial freelance writer, political blogger and social media consultant. I have been writing for well over 18 years. I have written many commentaries on the political landscape in the United States for my blog, The Hinterland Gazette and have been a guest writer on The Moderate Voice and financial website Yovia. I also operate Green Plum, a blog devoted to environmental and social responsibility issues. I have interviewed politicians, athletes, fellow journalists, business leaders and educators. I am most proud of my interviews with former Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin and CNN's Soledad O'Brien.

I got my start in journalism at Ohio University in Athens, OH, and later earned a business degree from Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, IN. I have worked in the field of journalism in different capacities such as a writer, news reporter,  publicity coordinator, paginator and as manager of operations for the classified department. I am busy working on my first novel, a mystery, set in the hills of the "no problem mon" land of Jamaica, where I was born.
