Recycle Large Items, Shred Documents in Johns Creek

Event is Saturday at State Farm on Johns Creek Parkway.

Johns Creek residents can get rid of some stuff and benefit others by sharing furniture, appliances and other large household items at Johns Creek's "Bulky Items Recycling Day" this Saturday, April 27. A commercial document-shredder will also be available to dispose of old or sensitive records, with a 10-box limit. "This event is intended to collect electronics, books, and large items that can be recycled," said Johns Creek Solid Waste Manager James Swope. "For large items not suitable for recycling, please use your private waste hauler's curbside collection." Shred Sensitive Documents on Saturday

Fight identity theft, shred personal records for free Feb. 9,

Johns Creek residents can safely get rid of sensitive documents Saturday, Feb. 9, by taking them to a commercial shredder at Panera, 11715 Medlock Bridge Road, near the intersection of McGinnis Ferry. The shredding service, available from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., is sponsored by Panera Bread Company, Keep Johns Creek Beautiful, and the City of Johns Creek. All paper will be recycled. The shredding is done on-site for free. To avoid identity theft, the Federal Trade Commission recommends shredding charge receipts, copies of credit applications, insurance forms, physician statements, checks and bank statements, expired charge cards and credit offers.

Shred Documents for Free on Saturday

Residents, businesses can destroy sensitive documents at Panera.

Destroy personal or sensitive documents by bringing them to a commercial shredder on July 28 at Panera Bread Company, 11715 Medlock Bridge Road, Johns Creek.  The shredding, scheduled from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., is free. All shredded paper will be recycled. To avoid identity theft, the Federal Trade Commission recommends shredding charge receipts, copies of credit applications, insurance forms, physician statements, checks and bank statements, expired charge cards and credit offers. Donate Big Items at Bulky Recycling Day

Johns Creek residents can get rid of clutter and help a good cause at the same time by bringing their used furniture, appliances and other large household items to Johns Creek’s “Bulky Recycling Day,” Saturday, April 14, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. A commercial document-shredder will also be available to dispose of old or sensitive records.  The event, sponsored by the Johns Creek Solid Waste Division and Keep Johns Creek Beautiful, will be at the Medlock Bridge Shopping Center, 6000 Medlock Bridge Parkway. Expect delays and plan to arrive well before 2 p.m.  Accepted items will be donated the Atlanta Furniture Bank. Please remember this is not a trash collection program.
