Local Schools Get Money From Johns Creek Foundation

Johns Creek Foundation presents $2,500 grants to Medlock Bridge, Taylor Road and River Trail.

The Johns Creek Foundation Board of Directors recently approved grants for $2,500 for three local school entities: Medlock Bridge Elementary Foundation, River Trail Middle School PTA and Taylor Road Middle School PTA.  The Medlock Bridge Elementary Foundation has a primary mission to secure donations for capital improvements at the school. Working closely with the school and the PTA, the school’s foundation requested grant funds to assist in the upgrading of the production studio equipment in the media center. The award-winning media center will continue to provide the teachers the ability to assist students in creating multimedia presentations and to provide an avenue to expose students to new technologies.  River Trail Middle School PTA …

Taylor Road Middle Receives $1,500 Grant

CH2M Hill, a public-private partner with the city of Johns Creek, has awarded Taylor Road Middle School with a $1,500 Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM) Grant. Since 2007, CH2M Hill associates have partnered with the science department at Taylor Road Middle School, participating each year as judges and advisers in the annual science fair. This year the partnership grew to include presentations for National Engineers Week. Ch2M Hill engineers and associates encouraged science students to consider pursuing careers in engineering with a series of presentations, hands-on water filtration activities, and question-and-answer sessions.
