Johns Creek Students Place at Fulton Spelling Bee

The students will now move on to a district spelling bee at the end of the month.

Nearly 70 students in grades 4-8 represented their schools in several competitive rounds during the 2013 Fulton County Schools spelling bee held Feb. 2 at Ison Springs Elementary School. Alina Baiju from Hopewell Middle School was crowned the winner after she edged out tough competitor Sean O’Neal from Findley Oaks Elementary School in Johns Creek. She had to correctly spell "belligerent" to win the title. Wilson Creek Kid 'Competently' Wins Bee

Fourth and fifth grade students at Wilson Creek Elementary participated in a school-wide spelling bee this week. Fifth-grader Sophie Moon correctly spelled the word “competently” to seal the victory. Sophie will represent Wilson Creek in the Fulton County spelling bee on Feb. 2 at Mount Olive Elementary School in East Point. The purpose of the spelling bee is to help students improve their spelling, increase their vocabularies, learn concepts and develop correct English usage that will help them all their lives.
