Johns Creek-Based Saia Elects Board Member

The etired Witness Systems CFO was appointed to the audit committee.

Saia Inc., a Johns Creek-based transportation provider offering multi-regional less-than-truckload, non-asset truckload and logistics, announced the board of directors elected William F. Evans as a director of the corporation and was appointed to the audit committee.  "We are pleased to welcome Bill to our board and believe Saia will benefit from his extensive corporate experience and leadership," said Bert Trucksess, Saia chairman. "Bill joins our organization at a dynamic time for both Saia and the transportation industry as a whole." Question of the Week: Will You Use Snail Mail For Your Shipping Needs During The Holidays?

The United States Postal Service is expecting record use of its services.

According to a press release, the United States Postal Service is projecting it will ship about 365 million packages this holiday season. USPS made the announcement earlier this month on their predictions, which is a 20 percent increase from how much business it did during the 2011 holiday season.  The agency believes the increase is due to customers embracing online shopping. USPS also projects about 18 billion cards, letters and packages will be delivered through New Year's Eve. How much will you use USPS for your shipping needs this holiday season?

The Post Office is the worst way to send any package. The saying "You get what you pay for" is true. We run a small business and ship only UPS. We tried the postal service but ended up with broke, lost, and late packages. The days of the Postal Service is over. The only mail that we get is junk mail.   more ›
