After almost 15 years of business, Ray's on Killer Creek is renovating the entire restaurant with an updated design and fresh new food choice. Not only the building and menu are getting an update – the restaurant is also debuting a new name, Ray's on the Creek. While the final touches will be completed in January, transformations are already evident both inside and outside of the restaurant, the restaurant's founder, Raymond Schoenbaum, said. Upon arrival, guests are greeted with new signs displaying a more prominent Ray’s logo, leading to a brighter interior with a new coastal inspired blue façade and a completely revamped bar. To celebrate these significant changes, Ray’s on the Creek is hosting a grand reopening party in January. The …

The popular Roswell restaurant is expanding in February 2013.
Roswell restaurateurs Hicham Azhari and Fikret Kovac of F&H Food Trading Group are once again teaming up with corporate executive chef Bob McDonough for their fourth venture together – this time in Alpharetta. The Salt Factory Pub, a Roswell institution, will open a second location at the former KFC location in historic downtown Alpharetta, next to Taco Bell on Main Street, during late February 2013. F&H Food Trading Group’s collection of restaurants currently reside on Canton Street in historic Downtown Roswell, and include Latin American-inspired INC. Street Food, New York butcher-influenced Little Alley Steak and the original Salt Factory Pub. Salt’s menu is locally sourced and emphasizes fresh, regional flavors with an international …

The popularity of craft beers has expanded to the opening of growler stores, where customers can get 64-ounce glass bottles filled from the tap and sealed up to take home. Thanks to Johns Creek resident David Sheets, Alpharetta looks to be joining communities such as Duluth, Athens and Avondale. On April 10 at Alpharetta City Hall, City Council passed the first reading of an ordinance allowing the sale of growlers, traditionally glass bottles. You won't be able to buy or fill up your growlers at restaurants or liquor stores. State law prohibits that. "You cannot sell growlers at establishments licensed to sell distilled spirits or liquor," City Attorney Sam Thomas said. Growler stores will be able to provide samples, but not enough that …

The newest steakhouse in Roswell officially opened this week.
After months of preparation and a weekend of preview events, Little Alley Steak on Canton Street officially opened this week. The steakhouse - opened by Hicham Azhari and Fikret Kovac who also co-own INC Autentico and Salt Factory on Canton Street - has already received a plethora of press and local buzz for its take on the all-American steakhouse. Inspired by the 1880s, the restaurant features a new spin on the expected industrial interior trend that has delighted customers at both of the restaurateurs' other two Roswell restaurants. A bull's head greets visitors over the door and Edison bulbs are hung from meat hooks inside the space. Chef Robert McDonough takes the lead in creating a menu as unique as the interior design. According to …
