In what is becoming an annual tradition, Relay for Life returns to Johns Creek for the fifth time this year. In celebration of the five-year milestone, the overnight fundraising walk returns on Friday, April 19, to the original Relay site in Johns Creek — Taylor Road Middle School. In another special treat this year, Johns Creek resident and Emmy-winning 11Alive news anchor Karyn Greer will emcee the event. Greer will be joined by Zoey Clarke singing the "Star Spangled Banner" and the Johns Creek Veterans Association Honor Guard presenting colors. Area Kroger Stores Donate to Relay for Life

Over $184,000 was donated to the American Cancer Society's fundraiser.

Kroger customers and associates in its Atlanta Division – which includes Johns Creek area stores – contributed more than $184,000 to support the American Cancer Society’s (ACS) Relay For Life campaign – an 8 percent increase from last year’s donations. For two weeks in February, Kroger customers and associates at the 213 stores in Georgia, South Carolina, Northern Alabama and Eastern Tennessee purchased $1 “footprint” icons for Relay For Life, a signature fundraising event that takes place in more than 5,100 communities nationwide and abroad.
