Pisgah program open to all residents regardless of school.
Registration is now underway for Mount Pisgah’s Junior Patriot football program. The program is open to all in the community, regardless of what school you attend. Flag football teams are forming for boys who will be in first or second grade in the fall. Tackle football is available for boys in rising third through sixth grade. The cost is $195 for flag football and $335 for tackle football. Registration will continue until all teams are full but these prices are good only through March 30. Emily Raymer and Devin Peterson named All-Region.

Mount Pisgah Christian School varsity basketball players Emily Raymer and Devin Peterson were recently named All-Region 6-A. Raymer, a senior, was named first team All-Region. The Rollins College signee averaged 13.1 points, 13.3 rebounds, 4.8 blocks and 1.6 steals per game. Peterson was named second team All-Region. The junior guard averaged 14.7 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.4 steals and 2.2 assists on the season.

Two Pisgah wrestlers place in Top 6 at GHSA Championships; team places 17th.

Making their first appearance at the GHSA Class A Wrestling Championships, Mount Pisgah Christian School wrestlers Mitchell Tanzy and James Laughlin both brought home medals, finishing 5th and 6th, respectively. Jack Kenyon also qualified for the event, but failed to place losing his first two matches in the 195 pound weight class. As a team the Patriots tallied 16 points to put them in 17th place out of the 25 Class A teams who sent wrestlers to the event. This is only the second year of the wrestling program for Head Coach Josh Merry and the Patriots. Tanzy took 5th place in the 113 pound weight class. He finished the tournament 2-2 with wins over Ben Morgan from Trion and Hunter Smith from Mt. Zion. The sophomore won both matches with …

Mount Pisgah Christian School announces the appointment of Mike Forester as new head football coach. Coach Forester has served as the school’s defensive coordinator for the past year and has an impressive background in both coaching and secondary education. He holds a Masters of Divinity and an undergraduate degree in business administration. He has taught Bible, philosophy, psychology and geography and coached football at Briarwood Christian School in Birmingham, Ala., for 19 years. Forester hails from a line of impressive educators and football players. Mount Pisgah Christian School's Emily Raymer recently passed the 1000 mark in career points and rebounds. The senior passed the 1000 point mark over the Christmas break against Davidson Day School. She grabbed her 1000th rebound on Saturday in a 22-19 win over Whitefield. Raymer also finished the Whitefield game in style, completing her first triple double with 15 points, 18 rebounds and 10 blocks. She now has 368 blocks for her career. For the season, Raymer is averaging 13.7 points, 12.9 rebounds and 4.4 blocks per game. She has signed to continue her basketball career at Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla.

Mount Pisgah football players Ryan Felice and Flint Geier were both named first team All-State for Class A this week. Felice, a senior defensive back, was named first team by the Georgia Sports Writers Association, while Geier, a senior offensive lineman, was named first team by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “These two young men are a major reason that we had such a successful season and qualified for the GHSA playoffs for the first time in school history,” said Pisgah Head Football Coach Doug Dixon. “In addition to being great on the field and as leaders, these two are outstanding students. The Mount Pisgah football team had a Region high 14 players named to the All-Region 6-A South squad this week. They placed four players on the first and second teams, while six more were named Honorable Mention. First teamers included seniors Flint Geier (offensive line), Dylan Dixon (defensive line), Ryan Felice (defensive back) and sophomore Shingy Chigwere (defensive line). The offense was well represented on the second team with quarterback Aaron Winchester, running back Rondy Brownlee and wide receiver Oz Dixon. Mount Pisgah varsity softball player Morgan Walters was named the GHSA Class A Player of the Year. The junior third baseman led the Patriots in batting average (.500), slugging percentage (1.075), on base percentage (.598), walks (19), home runs (11), RBIs (41) and runs (42). Walters has committed to the University of Missouri. In addition to Walters the Patriots also had four other players named to the GHSA Class A All-State team on Friday. Madison Wickline, Madison Claytor and Courtney Condon were all named First Team All-State, while Nicole Peters was named third team. The Mount Pisgah varsity football team will make its first-ever appearance in the GHSA playoffs this season after finishing No. 16 in the Class A Private School Power Rankings. The Patriots (6-4) edge out Whitefield Academy for the last spot. "It's great! It's great for the kids, great for the school and great for the community. It's just a great feeling," Head Coach Doug Dixon said shortly after the playoff bracket was finalized. "We get to start the second season right now."
