Water Main Project on McGinnis Ferry May Affect Traffic

Flagmen will occasionally be directing traffic on the section of road between Bethany Bend in Milton and Windward Concourse in Alpharetta.

Although a water main pipe project along less than one mile of McGinnis Ferry Road will be completely off road in the right of way, it still will interrupt traffic at times between now and Aug. 15. Work crews from the Fulton County Department of Water Resources are installing 5,160 linear feet of 16-inch diameter water main pipe along McGinnis Ferry Road. The project starts from Bethany Bend within the City of Milton and proceeds east across GA 400 into the City of Alpharetta. The pipe will turn right off of McGinnis Ferry onto Windward Concourse and then right on Alderman Drive. Daily activities will be conducted from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. No water service interruptions are planned for this project, which is scheduled to be completed by Aug…

City Allows New Subdivision on McGinnis Ferry

Council also awards traffic control software bid, vows to support voter drive.

The Johns Creek City Council on Monday voted in favor of a rezoning change that will allow for construction of a 33-lot single family subdivision on the 7500 block of McGinnis Ferry Road. The council was unanimous in its decision to change the zoning from agricultural to a single family dwelling district. "I'm excited to see another residential neighborhood," said Mayor Mike Bodker. "It's good to see activity starting to pick up in our local economy." The rezoning was requested by Carson Developments in Atlanta. The city also awarded a bid in the amount of $150,000 for new traffic signal control software to Southern Lighting and Traffic Services.
