All federal, state and local government offices as well as banks will be closed on Monday, Jan. 21, in honor of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. The holiday marks the birthday of the famed civil rights leader. King’s actual birthday is on Jan. 15, but the third Monday of January was designated as the official holiday in 1983. The City of Johns Creek and Fulton County offices will be closed for the holiday. The Fulton County Tax Commissioners' offices will also be closed on Monday for the holiday as well as branches of the Atlanta-Fulton County Library System Fulton County School District offices and schools will be closed.
