Golf Bag, Clubs Stolen From Johns Creek Home

The owner of the items said both the bag and the clubs are worth over $1,600.

A home on Branham Field Road was recently burglarized, with the alleged thief making off with over $1,600 worth of golf clubs and a golf bag. Johns Creek police responded to the residential burglary call on April 29 in which the alleged victim said the golf bag was taken from his home. According to an incident report from the agency, the man told police he was unsure of the timing, but believed it happened between April 25 and April 26. He noted his garage door was left open during those two dates and he was out of town on those two days.  He told police he noticed the bag was gone when he returned.  The bag is described as black and gold and inside the bag were a set of Callaway Diablo golf irons, worth $1,200; a Taylor Made Burner Driver…

Accreditation Team Seeks Public Comment on JCPD

Public information session is Monday, April 22.

Johns Creek Police Department is seeking re-accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA), the gold standard for law enforcement professionalism. Defendant Gets 220-Year Sentence for Rape, Molestation of 3-Year-Old

A 23-year-old man has been sentenced to 220 years in prison for the rape and child molestation of a 3-year-old girl. Johns Creek Police Detective B.K. Lyles led the initial investigation into the incidents, which occurred in July 2011. Jason Jerome Hambrick was convicted in a jury trial that ended Friday, Feb. 8, according to Fulton County District Attorney Paul L. Howard Jr. Hambrick was also charged with cruelty to children in the first degree in connection with his sex crimes against a 3-year-old child in his care. According to the investigation, the defendant forced the child to engage in various sexual acts on repeated occasions causing physical scarring. JC Fire, Police to Host Community Safety Day

Public safety departments to conduct demos, safety checks on Oct. 6.

The Johns Creek Fire and Police departments will perform several demonstrations as part of  “Community Safety Day” on Saturday, Oct. 6, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the State Bridge Corners Shopping Center (Home Depot and Target parking lots). “Community Safety Day” is a free event and precursor to Fire Prevention Week (Oct. 7-13) and will help heighten awareness about basic safety issues.   “Though as first responders we focus on public safety in Johns Creek every day, 'Community Safety Day' is a special time to help our citizens become more conscious about the safety of themselves and their families,” said Police Chief Ed Densmore and Fire Chief Jeff Hogan.   The Johns Creek Police "Officer of the Quarter" award has been given to Officer Tyler Seymour for his outstanding contributions to the law enforcement agency during the 1st quarter of 2012, announced Police Chief Ed Densmore on Tuesday.  “Officer Seymour far surpassed all expectations as a rookie in the department, quickly becoming a leader and example to others in his squad,” said Densmore. “He’s consistently diligent in his work and service and exerts a strong effort to making Johns Creek a safe community. Johns Creek Citizens Police Academy cadets got a glimpse this past week into JCPD’s gritty and clandestine undercover operations and Crime Scene Investigations units.  This was week three of nine for the diverse group of 21 adult cadets -- in all nine women and 12 men -- taking part in the fall and final academy class of the semiannual series now in its third consecutive year.
