Alpharetta and Chattahoochee players, coaches and fans join together to make it a pink night.
Hardly a seat remained at Alpharetta High's football stadium Friday night, Oct. 19, as the home team Raiders took on the Chattahoochee Cougars in a key gridiron matchup. But rather than team colors, the fans were decked out in pink. Alpharetta High School was hosting the Second Annual Pink Out Football game benefitting Susan G. Komen and Northside Breast Care Center. It was “Two Teams, One Cause” as the Raiders and the Cougars joined together to raise funds for a cure. The night stared with a celebration, bringing cancer survivors onto the field to celebrate life and remember those who had passed. Marching bands from both schools intermingled to perform together. And one mother's life was remembered via video on the field's large video …

Johns Creek defeated Milton 14-9 on Friday, Sept. 7
The Johns Creek Gladiators came to the Eagles Nest Stadium of Milton High School with a defensive game plan that worked, but punter Will Sommers fake kick was a game changer. Sommers ran 27 yards for a key first down that kept a Gladiators scoring drive alive. The punter wasn't too bad in his regular duties. He punted 5 times for 248 yards. That's a 49.6-yard average. His longest was 63 yards. He was singled out for specialty team honors for his performance. After Gladiators quarterback Skye Overton was sacked in the end zone for a safety by the Eagles Jerrell Knight, it didn't look too good for the visitors. And when the Eagles followed up on the ensuing kickoff with a touchdown by Peyton Barber and PAT by C. Mills, the Gladiators trailed…

Johns Creek's defense managed to control a Milton offense that couldn't score in the second half.
The Johns Creek Gladiators kept the Milton Eagles in check for the entire second half to go on to victory, 14-9 on Friday, Sept. 7. The Eagles did score first by sacking the Gladiators' quarterback in the end zone for a safety, making it 2-0. They immediately followed that up with a touchdown on the drive that followed. Taking advantage of great field position after Johns Creek had to kick from deep in their own territory after suffering the safety, Milton quickly made it 9-0. But that was the last score for the Eagles. Johns Creek was able to put together two unanswered scoring drives in the second half as Milton couldn't contain the Gladiators on the outside. The Eagles couldn't sustain their next to the last drive against the Gladiators…

The Cougars (10-1) host Warner Robins (9-2) in the second round of the Class AAAA football playoffs.
Are you concerned about Chattahoochee's chances of beating Warner Robins Friday night and advancing in the Class AAAA football playoffs? Don't be. Here are five reasons why the Cougars can — and will — win: 1. Firepower! Winners of 10 straight games, the defending state champion Cougars are on an offensive roll, averaging 35.5 points per game in that span. In last week's 65-48 win over Habersham Central, the Hooch set single-game records in points scored, rushing yards and total yards, according to a report in the Georgia High School Football Daily newsletter. 2. There's a New Kid in Town: After state player of the year Timmy Byerly graduated last year, many wondered what the Cougars would do at quarterback. No worries, mates. Travis …
