Hooch Heads to Quarterfinals

Chattahoochee wins 2nd round of state hoops playoffs; Pisgah falls to Aquinas.

After defeating Douglas County 91-65 on Wednesday, Chattahoochee's boys basketball team will move to the quarterfinals on Friday. The Cougars (7-AAAA) will take on Southwest DeKalb (6-AAAA) at the University of West Georgia in Carrollton at 5:30 p.m. Meanwhile, Mount Pisgah's boys basketball team is out of the playoffs after the Patriots fell to Aquinas 60-56 in the second round. Hooch Heads to Hoops Playoffs Tonight

The Chattahoochee High School boys’ basketball team, the current Region 7-AAAA champions, will host Douglas County in the second round of state playoffs tonight, Wednesday, Feb. 29. Game time is 7:30 p.m. at Chattahoochee. The Cougars defeated No. 4 Salem High School (8BAAAA) in the first round of the state tournament last weekend.

Hooch's Gaillard Earns Chamber Recognition

Chattahoochee High School’s Cassidy Gaillard was named January's Female Student-Athlete by the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce. Gaillard, a junior, is in her third year on Chattahoochee's varsity girls' basketball team and has a 4.0 grade point average. Joe Sciberras from Mount Vernon Presbyterian School was January's Male Student-Athlete. He and Gaillard received their awards at the GNFCC Eggs and Enterprise Breakfast at the Atlanta Athletic Club on Jan. 25. On Jan. 28, Gaillard scored a career-high 25 points in the game against Woodland, where she hit seven 3-point shots.

Blossomgame is Hooch's All-Time Hoops Scorer

Jaron Blossomgame recently became the all time leading scorer in the 21-year history of Chattahoochee High School basketball. He broke the record by scoring his 1,481st point Dec. 6 against Sequoyah High School. Chris Warzynski was the previous record holder with 1480 points. Blossomgame is also the all-time leading rebounder and shot blocker in school history. He signed a full scholarship with Clemson University on Nov. 9 and was the school's first player in the class of 2012 to be offered a scholarship the previous year. Blossomgame is currently averaging 27 points and eight rebounds per game.  He has also been nominated for the McDonald’s All American High School basketball game.
