Kristen Jolley is taping shows this week for the latest collegiate competition on the TV quiz show, which will air in early May.
Kristen Jolley spent the weekend traveling to California for her chance to be on Jeopardy. It's time once again for two weeks of collegiate competition on the quiz show hosted by Alex Trebek, and the Johns Creek resident will be part of the taping of episodes today and Tuesday. But while she will know how she does, the rest of us have to wait until those episodes start airing on May 6. Jolley, a senior biology major at Georgia Tech, said she's always wanted to be on Jeopardy. "I started watching with my grandfather when I was like 6 or so," she said. "I really liked it and though it was fun." She's been preparing since middle school for her shot at the big time, having been on academic teams at both her middle school and at Chattahoochee …

'The Outsiders' will be performed April 19 & 20.
S.E. Hinton's hit novel "The Outsiders" is brought to life onstage in Chattahoochee High School's Little Theater for two nights only. Take a trip back in time to the 1950's, when the girls were sweet, the boys were wild, and Rock 'n' Roll reigned supreme. "The Outsiders" follows a gang of "Greasers" in the 1950’s who continuously find trouble with the rich kids in town, known as "The Socs." Sensitive Ponyboy Curtis (Alex Thomas) and his brothers, Darry (Brian Samuels) and Sodapop (Drew Townsend) head the gang of Greasers with the town rebel, Dallas Winston (Bobby Singleton). Things come to a head when Ponyboy’s best friend, Johnny Cade (Sam Vernik) murders a Soc and hides from the police in an abandoned church with Ponyboy. Other actors …

On March 20 the Chattahoochee High School Books for Africa club capped off a three-month-long effort to collect books to “end the book famine” in Africa and delivered two vanloads of books to the Books for Africa warehouse in Smyrna. Chattahoochee’s club started a book drive during the winter of first semester. The students wrapped boxes with holiday wrapping paper, and distributed them to all the language arts classes. For the first time, the club expanded the drive to different locations in our community—donation boxes were placed at Taylor Road Middle School, Findley Oaks Elementary School and the Johns Creek Art Center. After the students collected the books, they spent several days sorting through them, keeping the ones that met the …
