Army Major, Hooch Grad Presents Flag to Team

Former Chattahoochee athlete presents flag he carried in Afghanistan.

Army Maj. Graham White, a 1996 graduate of Chattahoochee High School, presented a flag to Head Coach Terry Crowder during pre-game ceremonies Sept. 28. White, a former member of the Hooch football, soccer, wrestling and rifle teams, had recently carried the flag while on a special operations mission in Afghanistan when he was the commander of the 75th Ranger Regiment Reconnaissance Company. Joining in the ceremony were some of White's former coaches, including coaches from the evening's opposing team, Johns Creek High School, Mike Cloy, Bill Waters, Norb Terza, Joey Matthews and Wade Alexander. Titans Medal in Fencing Championship

Northview High School hosted the Georgia High School Fencing League individual championships on Saturday, Feb. 4. The Northview Titans placed four fencers in the top eight to medal. Senior Patrick Zhou won silver, losing gold to Angad Singh of Milton High School in the men’s final. Andy Huang and Matthew Do of Northview shared bronze while Dave Williams of Northview placed sixth.   Katie Van Riper of Pope High School defeated Caitlin Stanton of Alpharetta High School in the women’s epee final to win gold. Stanton was awarded the silver medal while Laura Anderson of Roswell High School and Julie Zhang of Johns Creek High School each received bronze.   Both Northview men and women qualified for the team championships this upcoming Saturday …
