There are plenty of holiday parties going on at this time of year, and alcohol is available at many of these gatherings. Amica Insurance is offering tips on how to be a responsible party host and help stop drinking and driving. “Everyone likes to take part in a little holiday cheer,” said Tony Noviello, an assistant vice president with Amica Insurance. “But make sure that if you’re drinking alcohol, you’re being responsible about it. Don’t drink and drive – it might just save a life.” In 2011, 9,878 people were killed as a result of drunk driving, a 2.5-percent decrease from the year before, according to Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
