'Wintry Mix' Possible in Johns Creek

A 20 percent chance of snow showers Monday morning are possible. Monday night the low is expected to be around 5 degrees.

This cold weather in Johns Creek and north Fulton could get even worse in the next few days.

According to the National Weather Service, a mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain late Sunday night are possible followed by strong and gusty winds.

Then a "bitterly cold airmass" could follow the frozen stuff, with "single-digit" temperatures possible on Tuesday morning (Jan. 7).

The NWS predicts some raw conditions for Monday and Tuesday:

Monday: Mostly cloudy with a 20 percent chance of snow showers in the morning...then mostly sunny in the afternoon. Windy. Highs in the upper 20s. Northwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts to around 40 mph. Wind chill readings around zero.

Monday Night: Clear...windy...colder. Lows around 5. Northwest winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts to around 35 mph. Wind chill readings around 10 below zero.

Tuesday: Sunny. Highs in the mid 20s. Northwest winds 10 to 15 mph.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear. Lows around 13. Light and variable winds.
