Rescue Pets of the Week: Meet Kelsie and Krissie

These two kittens are looking for a forever home to share together.

Kelsie and Krissie are adorable kittens who need a forever family to love.

Angels Among Us Pet Rescue first learned of the plight of these kittens when the cat program volunteers received an email from a county animal shelter south of Atlanta. An Angels volunteer drove down to the shelter and returned with 11 adult cats and kittens.

Among this group of rescued felines were four tiny kittens who had been turned in by someone who had failed to spay their mother. These kittens were not weaned when Angels Among Us took them in and, and despite the volunteers' best efforts, two kittens from this litter did not survive.

But look at at Kelsie and Krissie – both girls are pretty little brown tabby-and-white kittens, and the rescue group believes they will grow up to be average-sized cats with medium-length fur. Like most kittens, they are fun to have around and alternate between being bundles of energy and mischievousness and then collapsing for naps. Typical of most kittens, they are interested in everything and keep their foster family entertained with their endless antics.

Krissie is very playful. She is constantly underfoot, and when you are relaxing to read or watch TV will suddenly show up to climb into your lap for some love. Kelsie is a little more shy at the beginning, but is a little prankster. She likes hiding when someone is looking for her, and then after calling her a bit she will suddenly be at your feet as if she's saying, "What's up?"  She takes time each day to explore fun places on her own, but then soon returns to be with her sister.

Both kittens are tidy and have been using their litter box since they were just a month old. They have been spayed, tested for feline leukemia and feline AIDS, vaccinated, treated for internal and external parasites, and microchipped.

These kittens are very attached to each other and must be adopted together. They are rather scared at the group's busy cat adoption events held at the Johns Creek PETCO's cat adoption center (10980 State Bridge Road), and their foster mom recommends that qualified adopters instead schedule a "meet and greet" at their foster home to see their personalities shine through.

Please note that Angels asks families with children under 6 years old to confine their search to the group's adult cats.
