Relay for Life Honors Survivors With Luncheon

The Relays for Life of Johns Creek, Alpharetta and Roswell came together recently to honor cancer survivors and their caregivers.  A crowd of nearly 70 met at Mount Pisgah United Methodist Church in Johns Creek to enjoy the live music of Ruby Montgomery while being honored at the luncheon sponsored by ADP of Alpharetta and Outback Steakhouse of Johns Creek.

Rev. Mike Roper of Mount Pisgah blessed the luncheon hosted by Johns Creek City Council members Bev Miller and Ivan Figueroa, and those in attendance listened to the survivor stories of Carey Mason, division vice-president and general manager at ADP; and Kari Bailey, Relay for Life Johns Creek co-chair and State Bridge Elementary School teacher.  Dr. David Howard of Emory University, a consultant to the American Cancer Society, also shared recent findings from his extensive cancer research.

Johns Creek Relay Co-Chair Leslie Martinez announced their Relay date of May 6-7. Alpharetta Relay Chair Sharman Mullen announced their Relay date of May 20-21. Roswell Relay Co-Chair Katha Stuart announced their Relay date of April 29-30.
