Leadership Johns Creek Revamps Fitness Trail

Ribbon-cutting scheduled for June 8.

Leadership Johns Creek's Class of 2012 to unveil its class project Friday, June 8, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Trail 7 in Johns Creek Technology Park.

Various city and community leaders will be in attendance, and the public is invited to attend and view all of the trail enhancements and enjoy a hot dog lunch. 

The ribbon-cutting is the culmination of a yearlong project by LJC Class of 2012, which includes 28 business and community leaders of Johns Creek. The project includes enhancements to Trail 7 to provide residents, business employees and visitors a place to enjoy nature, view public art and contribute to a healthy lifestyle.

The trail improvements include: fitness equipment, picnic tables, bird feeders, trash receptacles, additional seating along the trail, and public art that includes a mosaic bench and a mosaic archway. The public art project, designed by Johns Creek resident and artist Jennifer Freeman, with assistance from the Leadership class and volunteers, is the first one of its kind in the Johns Creek community and adds a new and exciting element to the region.

Leadership Johns Creek is a program that is designed to encourage local business leaders to become active participants in the local community and to develop leadership talents in individuals representing the Johns Creek community through a structured series of learning experiences while in the program. The class project is a valuable part of this program as it includes a contribution that benefits the local community.
