Johns Creek Receives Wildlife Designation

City earns certification as wildlife habitat.

Thanks to the work of student Malcolm Barnard and his Johns Creek Wildlife Habitat Team, the city was recognized by the National Wildlife Federation on Tuesday as a Community Wildlife Habitat Certification.

Representatives from the city, Fulton County, schools and neighborhoods showed up at a ceremony to receive the signs, certificates and grants they've earned as a result of their efforts.

With 224 homes, all schools in Johns Creek, the park and various community sites designated as wildlife habitats, the city itself has become only the second in Georgia and the 60th in the nation to qualify.
