JC Resident Donates Hundreds of Toys

Johns Creek's Toys for Tots drive continues through Dec. 23.

Hundreds of new toys for metro Atlanta’s needy children were donated Dec. 13 by longtime Johns Creek resident Ron Green, as part of the city’s annual contribution to the U.S. Marine Corps’ “Toys for Tots” campaign.

Green, CEO of Cauley Creek Waste Water Reclamation in Johns Creek, purchased more than 200 toys, which literally filled three cars when he drove them Tuesday to the “Toys for Tots” drop-off at Johns Creek Fire Station No. 61.

“In all the years I’ve been doing this, this is the largest donation from a single person I’ve ever seen,” said U.S. Marine Sgt. Charntae Freeman.  “We really thank Mr. Greene and the city of Johns Creek.”

Mayor Mike Bodker and several Johns Creek firefighters helped Green unload the toys and add them to the ones already collected across the city since late November.

Toys will continue to be collected in Johns Creek until Dec. 23 because of the lower than normal donations this year to the annual campaign across metro Atlanta.
