Get Your Girl Scout Cookies!

Booths open Friday in Johns Creek and nearby.

Johns Creek residents can support the Girl Scouts and enjoy those tasty famous cookies beginning this week at several cookie booths around the area, including several Kroger locations, Egg Harbor Cafe and the Forum in Peachtree Corners.

This year is a big year. In honor of the organization’s 100th Anniversary, a new cookie from none other than the state of Georgia hits the stands – “Savannah Smiles.”

According to the organization’s Web site, it is a bite-sized lemon wedge cookie with a dusting of powered sugar. Savannah featured prominently in plans for the new cookie because of its history as home of Girl Scouts founder Juliette Gordon Low.
