With just some 24 hours left until Saturday's grand opening of the Atlanta Humane Society's new animal shelter on Mansell Road, William Shaheen, the non-profit's president, treated local officials and media to a behind-the-scenes tour on Friday morning.
The shelter, at 1565 Mansell Road, Alpharetta, just west of 400, celebrates its grand opening Saturday, Dec. 3, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event kicks off with a ribbon cutting, while activities include adoptions, volunteer information, tours, pets with Santa photos, dog training clinics, free raffle tickets and food and refreshments.
