CHS Honor Faculty at Varsity Game this Week!

We are very fortunate to have plenty of amazing teachers here at Chattahoochee High School.  Please read the super star teachers that have been nominated for this years Faculty Appreciation Night.  These names were announced and celebrated prior to the Varsity game on Friday September 20th.

Paula Barbin/Math – Ms. Barbin - nominated by Madison Clarke and Madison Floyd.  Madison Clarke wrote that Ms. Barbin has been the best teacher she has had in HIgh School. "She truly wants every student to succeed and cares about every one of her students. She is always happy and positive."Ms. Barbin is  also nominated by both Collin Lisa and Zack Kladis.  Collin says “Ms. Barbin is very kind, always helps me when I need help, and is always very positive.” For Zack Ms. Babin)helped him out a lot in BC Calculus and made class fun.

Scott Carmichael/Health & Personal Fitness – Coach Carmichael is nominated by Chris Leece.   “From the day I stepped into Chattahoochee High School, Coach Carmichael instilled a sense of discipline and self-determination in me and others.  He shaped me from a boy into a man and I credit him for helping me accomplish everything I have done in high school”.

Tim Jones/Math – Coach Jones has been nominated by Chase Thornton.  Chase commented “The reason I’ve chosen Coach Jones is because not only did he motivate me in school, but he motivated me to be a better person.”

Jack Kimsey/Math–Mr. Kimsey has been nominated by Nick Williams.  Nick believes Mr. Kimsey is a great teacher and makes the subject of Math fun.

Rebbie Lichliter/Class Council Sponsor – Ms. Lichliter has been nominated by Hailey Gatins.  Hailey commented that “Mrs. Lichliter has been one of the most influential teachers I have ever had although she never taught me a specific subject.  She taught me leadership, responsibility, and school pride.  As our Senior Class sponsor, Mrs. Lichliter and I have worked together on many projects such as homecoming decorations, prom location hunting and planning, and we have had the best time doing so.  She has taught us how to lead the Class of 2014 to become the best Senior Class that Chattahoochee has ever seen.  Thank you so much Mrs. Lichliter for always being there for me and our entire class.”

Matt Mihordea/Chemistry – Mr. Mihordea - nominated by Jade Thames. According to Jade "Mr. Mihordea is not only one of Chattahoochee's beat teachers, he's one of Chattahoochee's best people. He is funny, intelligent and very clever. He did not treat me as if I was a student of no importance. Instead he treated me as an equal. Mr. Mihordea has also been nominated by Adam Abdellaoui.  “I chose Mr. Miho because he is probably the coolest teacher I’ve had at Chattahoochee, and his class usually had something interesting each day.”

Kathryn Paxton/Science – Ms. Paxton has been nominated by Ryan Simkoff.  Ryan  nominated Ms. Paxton because “She is a cool teacher”.

Kathryn Pierce/Human Anatomy & Physiology –Ms. Pierce has been nominated by Taylor Berry.  Taylor says “Ms. Pierce inspires me every day.  She has had the most impact on my education.  It’s because of her that I know what I want to study in college.  I love science and she made learning even more enjoyable.”

Harris Quraishy/History – Mr. Quraishy has been nominated by Avery Ward.  Avery feels Coach Q has helped him manage school work and sports.

Rebecca Rivera/Literature – Ms. Rivera has been nominated by both Adam Perleberg and Robert Norman.  Adam says “Ms. Rivera has been able to teach me useful aspects that could help me in life and also have fun at the same time.”  Robert commented that “Ms. Rivera was definitely very welcoming upon my entrance into Chattahoochee.  She gets me, she makes a pretty good impression on our students, and she brings a very pleasant vibe to the learning experience.”

Ms. Scarpelli/Math – Ms. Scarpelli has been nominated by Montel Austin.  Montel says “She is a great teacher and very supportive in and out of school.  She’s also a positive influence.”

Matthew Sharp/Astronomy – Mr. Sharp has been nominated by Trey Hillman, Chase Nelson & Malik Stephens.  Trey believes “Mr. Sharp is a great teacher.  He helps everyone understand the importance of the universe.  Plus he is a great football fan.”  Chase says “He has taught me the way of life.”  Malik feels “He’s the best teacher ever.”

Jeff Shmanske/Transportation – Mr.Shmanske has been nominated by Connor Hoyt.  Connor says “I chose Mr. Ske because he’s taught me a lot about life & cars.  He’s a great teacher and he makes class interesting and fun.”

Kathy Smith/AP Language and Composition – Mrs. Smith has been nominated by Colby Hesseltine.  Colby commented “Mrs. Smith, in what is a largely thankless job, approaches her material with an enthusiasm and vigor that rubs off onto me and makes me excited to learn and view the world in an entirely new light than I had ever known.  For that – at the very least – I thank her.”
