Farmers Market Returning to Johns Creek

Market will open Saturdays June 2-Sept. 8 at Newtown Park.

After , the Johns Creek Farmers Market will return June 2 to with more vendors, more locally grown fruits and vegetables, and more entertainment.

“We had a great response last year,” said Kirk Franz, City Recreation manager. “We’re bringing back many of the same vendors plus some new ones. We’re lining up some singers and we’re adding chef demonstrations and more things for kids. We think the Farmers Market is going to be a fun thing to do on Saturday mornings.” 

This summer, the Farmers Market will offer about 32 vendors, compared with 28 last year. Vendors will sell locally grown produce that is certified organic, certified naturally grown or sustainably grown. Vendors will offer produce that’s ripe and in season. Market offerings include organic garden produce, certified organic beef, all-natural cheeses, honey, homemade jams and jellies, fresh breads, pastries, and pastas.

Set up in the parking lot near the Community Garden and Park Place, the market is open from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturdays until Sept. 8.

Local musicians will play a variety of genres from classical and salsa to folk. Chef demonstrations will provide helpful tips on cutlery, grilling and making tasty treats. Planned kids’ activities include Hula Hoops, coin scrambles and sidewalk art.
