Area Events to Celebrate Father’s Day 2012

Celebrate Father's Day 2012 by making it a family affair and attending a fun event in the Atlanta area. To celebrate dads everywhere, here are some famous quotes about the all-important role of fathers.

Father’s Day 2012 is almost here, so to commemorate the auspicious occasion, here are memorable quotes about fatherhood and popular Father’s Day events in Atlanta, including the Annual Father’s Day Frosty weekend at Wendy’s to benefit the Dave Thomas Foundation. Father’s Day events in Atlanta

  • Father's Day Hike and Craft at Autrey Mill Nature Preserve: Saturday, June 16, at 10 a.m. This is a drop-off program for ages 5 to 10. Children are invited to take a fun supervised hike along the trails while talking about nature's fathers and their babies at in Johns Creek. Afterward, the kids will make Father's Day cards and other handmade gifts for Dad. $12, or $10 for members. Register at www.autreymill.org.
  • Superhero Day at Fernbank Museum: Sunday, June 17, from noon to 4 p.m. Is your dad SUPER? Is he your ultimate HERO? Then check out Fernbank Museum for a day of super fun that celebrates dads and other superheroes. Dress as your favorite superhero and enjoy games, crafts, hands-on activities, the Radio Disney Street Team, DragonCon characters, and more. $17.50 for adults, $16.50 for students/seniors, $15.50 for children ages 3 to 12; free for children ages 2 and younger and members.   • Father’s Day Celebration at Imagine It Children’s Museum: Saturday, June 16, at noon. Make it a special day for Dad and the whole family. Join the Imaginators in making fun bookmarks for Father’s Day gift giving. Then children can listen to the story “My Father’s Hands” by Joanne Ryder. Free with general admission.   • Father’s Day at Zoo Atlanta. Make this a Father's Day to remember - spend the night in the Zoo! Enjoy a nocturnal adventure focused on the many regions of Georgia. From the mountains, ridges and valleys to the coastal plains, Georgia has one of the most diverse landscapes in the country and is home to some of the most beloved wildlife on Earth. The Night Crawler event begins at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 16, and ends at 10:30 a.m. on Father’s Day, June 17.   • Wendy’s 6th Annual Father’s Day Frosty Weekend: June 16 and 17. Participating Wendy's restaurants across the country will donate a minimum of 50¢ from every Frosty product sold to support Wendy's Wonderful Kids, a signature program of the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption (DTFA) that finds adoptive families for foster children.
