Are you ready for another round of picks?

at : We’ve been waiting for this game, haven’t we? Some of you have been emailing about what my prediction might be. Undefeated Johns Creek (5-0) against defending Class AAAA champ (and cross-town rival) Chattahoochee (3-1). Both teams are well-coached, have been putting up points in bunches (both average around 35 points in their victories), and are clearly in great shape to reach the playoffs. It’s common in this kind of a game for the upstart program — in this case, Johns Creek, which went 4-6 last season — to fall short on the home field of the established program. I mean, Chattahoochee, despite some graduation losses, did go 15-0 last year and programs like that don’t suddenly forget how to win the big game. But there’s just something about these Johns Creek Gladiators. Johns Creek 31, Chattahoochee 28.

at North Forsyth: Can North Forsyth (1-4) make it two in a row after last week’s 24-21 win over Roswell? Can Northview (also 1-4) end a four-game losing streak? The only thing we know is someone’s gotta win, right? North Forsyth 21, Northview 20.

at Holy Innocents’ (Saturday): The first- and second-place teams in Region 5-A North face each other in an important league game. Mt. Pisgah enters the game 3-1, 1-0 in the subregion and is on a two-game winning streak. Holy Innocents’ (4-1, 2-0 ) has two straight shutouts, including a 14-0 decision over last year’s league champ Wesleyan. Holy Innocents 21, Mt. Pisgah 14.
