Pisgah Girls Reach Tennis Semifinals

Semifinals and championship are May 7 in Clayton County.

The Mount Pisgah Christian School girls tennis team advanced to the GHSA Class A semifinals on Thursday with a 5-0 win over No. 6 Providence. This is the first appearance in the state semifinals for any Pisgah team since entering GHSA competition.

The Lady Patriots were again dominating by not losing a single set during any of the five matches. In singles, Aryn Greene (No. 1 singles) won 6-0, 6-3; Samantha Russell (No. 2 singles) won 6-0, 6-0; and Taylor Carlson (No. 3 singles) won 6-0, 6-0. In doubles, the team of Nicole Peters and Cissy Jamieson won 6-4, 6-3, while Sarah Chapdelaine and Carlota Tarrago won their pro set 8-2.

Pisgah will face the winner of the match between No. 2 Brookstone and Irwin County. The semifinals and championship match will be played on Saturday, May 7, at the Clayton County International Park Tennis Center.
