Pisgah Rallies to Defeat SW Atlanta Christian

Trailing 24-21 midway through the fourth quarter, the football team rallied on Friday night to pull out a 27-24 win over Southwest Atlanta Christian. Senior quarterback Kyle Sloter led the Patriots on the winning drive, which ended on a 44-yard scoring strike to John Towne.

Sloter finished the night 14-of-29 for 229 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for 43 yards and another score. Towne tallied seven catches for 161 yards and two touchdowns. Oz Dixon had two catches for 42 yards, including a 31-yard scoring pass from Sloter.

Pisgah took an early lead when Sloter hit Towne on a 20-yard fade in the left corner of the end zone. In the second quarter Southwest Atlanta answered on a 16-yard run by Deon Jones. The Patriots came right back and scored on Sloter’s touchdown pass to Dixon. Another scoring run by Jones for the Warriors gave Pisgah a slim 14-12 lead at halftime.

The teams traded touchdowns in the third quarter with Sloter scoring on a two-yard run and Jones finding Cameron Kenon for a 47-yard score. A Damon Jones five yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter gave Southwest Atlanta the lead, at least momentarily as Sloter immediately answered with the Patriots final touchdown.

Pisgah opens Region play this week as it hosts Pinecrest at 7:30 p.m. All Pisgah home games are played at the Patriot Athletic Campus, located at 9825 Brumbelow Road in Johns Creek.
