Pisgah Places Five on All-Region Baseball Squad

The Patriots finished the season 14-10 overall and 8-8 in region play.

The Mount Pisgah Christian School baseball team had five players named to the All-Region 5-A squad. Leading the way was outfielder Danny Schneider who was named to the first team. First baseman Hank Shaw and outfielder Kyle Jackson were named to the second team. Pitcher Joseph Marco and catcher Adrian Celata were honorable mention selections.

Schneider, a senior, led the Patriots with a .435 batting average, 12 doubles, eight home runs and 38 RBIs. Schneider’s home run total was a school record.

Shaw, a senior, hit .366 and finished with 10 doubles and 22 RBIs. Jackson, a sophomore, also hit .366, and added three doubles, two triples, two home runs and 10 RBIs.

Celata, a sophomore, posted a .365 batting average with three home runs and 11 RBIs. Marco, a junior, pitched 45 innings with an ERA of 3.58. He struck out 31 and walked 21.

The Patriots finished the season 14-10 overall and 8-8 in region play. The 14 wins were the most for any Pisgah team since beginning GHSA competition.
