RBC Bank, in partnership with RBC Wealth Management, is celebrating the upcoming PGA Championship in Johns Creek by inviting local youth for a shot at a $10,000 college scholarship.
As part of “Shot for College,” participants will receive golf instruction from PGA pro Anthony Kim. The clinic and scholarship competition is free and open to boys and girls ages 12-17 of all skill levels.
The clinic is Monday, Aug. 8, at in Johns Creek.
Kim will share his expertise with metro-area kids, covering topics such as golf etiquette and tips for short-game play. Each participant will shoot for one pin in the scholarship contest. The 10 finalists closest to the hole will get another shot, and the male and female golfer closest to the pin after that will attempt to sink a pressure putt for the $10,000 college scholarship.
“The PGA Championship is a special event and we wanted to celebrate our involvement by giving back to Atlanta-area youth and providing a unique learning opportunity in the midst of golf’s final major event,” said Jeffrey Scharps, regional president for RBC Bank. “Nothing could be more exciting for a young golfer than combining the chance to meet one of the PGA’s most exciting players while competing for the chance to win a college scholarship.”

The organization is dedicated to positively impacting the lives of Atlanta's young people by providing learning facilities and educational programs that promote character development and life-enhancing values through the game of golf.
