Northview Creates Memorable Senior Night With Win Over Roswell
Northview defeated the Hornets 35-21 to get into playoff contention in Region 6-AAAAA.
The Titans made big plays on both sides of the ball in a 35-21 win over Roswell Friday night.
The win lifted the Titans to 3-6 overall, 2-3 in Region 6-AAAAA, putting them into fourth place — and playoff position — while giving the seniors a memorable Senior Night at Northview. Roswell, last year's region champ, fell to 0-8, 0-4 in the region.
The game started with both teams' defenses holding the offenses at bay; the first quarter ended with no score.

The Hornets drew first blood after Northview punt returner T.J. Brown fumbled, giving them the ball at the Northview 19-yard line. Roswell immediately capitalized when running back Corey Wilson scored on a 19-yard run for a 7-0 lead.
The Titans responded with their no-huddle offense to quickly move the ball down inside the Hornets 20. Running back Terrance Upshaw then scored to tie the game at 7-7. On the Titans next possession, quarterback Evan Jacks connected with senior wide receiver Austin Rose for a 63-yard touchdown, giving Northview a 14-7 lead at halftime.

After Northview's first possession of the second half resulted in an interception by Roswell defensive back Thomas McCarter and later a 22-yard touchdown pass from Casey Culver to John Albert that tied the game at 14-14.
The Titans turned the ball over again on their next possession when Jacks tried to complete a long pass that was intercepted by Grant Beidel. Wilson then scored on a 43-yard touchdown run to give the Hornets a 21-14 lead with 2:04 left in the third quarter.
A huge play early in the fourth quarter turned the momentum in Northview's favor. On a third-and-12, Culver fumbled the snap and the ball was recovered by the Titans around the Hornets 10. Later, Upshaw scored to tie the game again, at 21-21.
Brown then made up for his fumble on the punt return by intercepting a Culver pass to set up Jacks' keeper for a score and a 28-21 Northview lead.
Brown's second interception then helped the Titans', setting up a 36-yard run by Jacks to close the scoring.
