Johns Creek To Host SouthEastern Lacrosse Conference Championships

The 27th annual SouthEastern Lacrosse Conference Championships will be held April 25-27.

For the 10th year in a row, the SouthEastern Lacrosse Conference Championships will return to Johns Creek.

The 15-game marathon will be held April 25-27 and will feature the region's top college lacrosse clubs. 

In its 27th year, the tournament will include the top eight Division I and Division II teams, and will also include teams such as Division I champion Georgia, as well as challengers Georgia Tech, Clemson, Virginia Tech, Emory and Florida State.

The SELC is the largest club lacrosse conference in the country, with 40 teams from 10 states and Washington, D.C. 

The top 16 are invited to the tournament, where Division I and Division II champions receive an automatic bid to the National Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association Championships in Irvine, Califorinia.

Opening round games will be played on April 25 in four locations: Northview High School in Johns Creek, Alpharetta High School in Alpharetta, Greater Atlanta Christian High School in Norcross and South Forsyth High School near Cumming. 

Semi-finals on April 26 and finals on April 27 will be at Northview for the 10th consecutive year.

At 10 a.m. Saturday, April 26, tournament players and coaches will conduct youth clinics. The tournament also will have a silent auction featuring many team items and proceeds will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. Kids' activities include a shooting cage and obstacle course with prizes.

Five incoming SELC Hall of Fame inductees will be officially recognized at halftime of the Division I Championship at Northview on April 27.

Tickets cost are $5 for children and $10 for adults and will be available at the gate. 

A three-day pass costs $20. Children wearing lacrosse jerseys are admitted free.
