Johns Creek Girls Track & Field Team Wins Region Meet

Relay teams also advance to state meet.

The Johns Creek High School Lady Gladiator track and field team won the Region 7AAAA meet Monday night at home.

Several girls scored points for the team, including Megan Vonderharr in the shot put; Abby Scott in triple jump; Ali Flory and Courtney Enos in pole vault; Flory in the high jump; Mariam Haidara and Alyssa Boatwright in the 100 and 300 hurdles; Taylor Outland in the long jump; Elizabeth Oswald and Katie Lucas in the two mile; Molly Speese in the mile; Scott in the 400; and Rachael Doverspike in the 200 and 100.

Additionally, the following teammates finished either first or second place in their events, qualifying for the state meet: Vonderharr in the discus; Outland in the 400 and 200; Doverspike in the high jump; and Allie Buchalski in the 800 and 1600.

Both relay teams (4 x 100 and 4 x 400) finished first in region and advance to the state meet, as well. Relay members include Kaitlin Greenway, Haidara, Scott, Outland and Buchalski.
