at Creekview: The 4-0 Johns Creek football team keeps rolling along. Last week’s 28-13 win over Woodland kept the Gladiators tied with Lambert at the top of the Region 7-AAAA standings and in great shape in the playoff chase. Things are fixin’ to get tougher, however, with three of last year’s playoff teams (Chattahoochee, Lambert and South Forsyth) right around the corner on the schedule. But before the Glads get there, they must contend with a Creekview team (1-3) that seems much better than its record indicates. One of the losses was a 24-21 decision to unbeaten Lambert. Don’t overlook the Creeksters. Johns Creek 27, Creekview 20.

Alpharetta at : Alpharetta (3-1) opens its play in Region 6-AAAAA schedule with a Northview team (1-3) that has seen a couple of games get away after taking early leads, including last week’s 36-21 loss to Newton. Alpharetta, on the other hand, has been just the opposite, pulling out games in the end. Last week, the Raiders scored three touchdowns in the final six minutes in a 33-20 win over Marietta. This could be a close game, despite the records. Alpharetta 24, Northview 17.

Northwest Whitfield at : A couple of 2-1 teams square off in what could be one of the better matchups of the weekend in north Fulton County. Both are on a two-game winning streak since season-opening losses to Region 7-AAAA co-leader Lambert. Chattahoochee, which has beaten its last two opponents by an average of 25 points, should make it three in a row. Chattahoochee 35, Northwest Whitfield 25.
