About 200 athletes age 50 and older celebrated the North Fulton Golden Games Opening Ceremonies, held for the first time in Johns Creek on May 2 at .
The festivities began with a presentation of the torch, followed by a friendly competition featuring some of the mayors of North Fulton. Johns Creek Mayor Mike Bodker won the “Minute-To-Win-It” challenge.
Athletes participated in field events including a Frisbee throw, 1-mile run, beach tennis, shot put, discus throw, football throw, horseshoe toss, clock golf, corn hole and more.
