Gladiators Win Regional Battle

Johns Creek defeats South Forsyth, 38-11

In a hard-fought regional battle with both teams showing a lot of determination, the visiting Gladiators recorded 302 yards of total offense, led by quarterback Skye Overton’s 138 yards passing.

Overton scored on a 48-yard touchdown run along with two touchdowns by running back Chase Solomon and another by running back Blake Storm.

The War Eagles came out strong early and put three points on the board in the first quarter and then seven in the second.

The Gladiators quickly shook off the rust of a one -week bye and went into halftime leading 21 to 11. In the second half, it was all Gladiators, scoring another 17 points in the second half and shutting out the South Forsyth offense for the rest of the game.

Linebacker Tommy Welch led the Johns Creek defense with 12 tackles, along with strong performances my linemen Justin Grava (8 tackles), Sam Arrington (8 tackles) and safety Jack Pomerantz (7 tackles). 

Johns Creek (7-1) plays at home next week against the surging Northwest Whitfield Bruins (5-3).
