Family Friendly Wrasslin' in Area Friday Night

High-flying professional wrestling debuts at North Atlanta Trade Center.

Fans and followers of professional wrestling can get their fix live tonight, Friday, in Norcross at the North Atlanta Trade Center when Universal Championship Wrestling's "Super Brawl" promises non-stop action featuring some of pro wrestling's most recognized names.

While the UCW show won't feature walls of hi-definition LED displays and elaborate pyrotechnics, the intimate venue will offer fans an up-close experience with world-class talent.

Owner and promoter Ronnie Gossett, a former pro wrestler himself performing under "The Shooter" moniker, has maintained a grassroots approach to the promotion, focusing more on quality vs. quantity.

Friday's show will also be the first of 11 monthly performances to follow at the trade center and will be recorded live for cable TV distribution.

Buff "The Stuff" Bagwell from Marietta, a former World Championship Wrestling (WCW) tag team champion and nWo (New World Order) faction member with many other championship titles behind him, will bring his brand of high-flying action to the ring this Friday.

"This is going to be wrestling at its best," said Bagwell. "And it'll be a G-rated, family friendly show. No profanity or half-naked women feuding in the ring; just flat-out great wrestling. And that's something that's rare in today's promotions."

This Friday's card also is scheduled to feature former world tag team champions the Steiner brothers, Rick and Scott, who went on to make names for themselves and win championships with equal success in solo action.

Former World Heavyweight Champion Lex Luger is also scheduled to be on hand to sign autographs for a separate charge.

Doors open at 7 p.m. The all-ages show starts at 8. General admission is $12 advance and $15 at the door. Ringside seats are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.

VIP passes for $40 that include reserved front-row seating will also allow attendees an opportunity to go backstage to meet the wrestlers in person prior to the show.
