This Saturday, Oct. 15, the National Park Service is holding an Autumn Campfire and Night Hikes at the Chattahoochee River Environmental Education Center on Barnwell Road in Johns Creek.
Participants can enjoy a campfire, guided hikes, and a beautiful autumn evening with the glowing stars overhead. Activities will include roasting marshmallows over an open fire, drinking delicious “ranger recipe hot apple cider,” and walking along a forest trail, as well as discovering new facts about the wildlife of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area and their nocturnal habits. Attendees will receive a complimentary Chattahoochee River Journal with wildlife lists and paw prints.
Everyone is invited to enjoy the campfire, moonlight, and nocturnal sights and sounds of the Chattahoochee. Flashlights for the hike can add to the fun.

This event will be held at Chattahoochee River Environmental Education Center, 8615 Barnwell Road, Johns Creek 30022, in the Center’s Lodge.
The walking level is easy, and everyone should dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes suitable for walking on a forest trail. A flashlight and also a jacket if the night has a chill will help.
