Woodward Students Say 'Yes' to Technology

Sixth-grade science students at Woodward North are showing the world that they have what it takes to be leaders in the 21st century. They recently completed projects in a TechYES program to earn certification in technology literacy. The program places a strong emphasis on having a positive digital footprint. The students completed science projects and learned how to present their findings in a digital format. As part of the project, they also learned Internet safety.

Kamal Rekhi, science teacher at Woodward, said, "In this day and age, technology is the key that opens doors to all professions. Today's students are tomorrow's leaders, and we want to make sure that Woodward North students are prepared for tomorrow.

"The kids are really excited about this," said Lee Vincent, Woodward North principal. "The students are an integral part of this program, learning from and teaching each other. It provides leadership opportunities for students and supports our philosophy that our school is a learning community where everyone participates."
