Woodward Academy Student Wins Geography Bee National Finals

A fourth grader who attends the north campus was awarded 1st place in the competition.

Woodward Academy fourth grader Vishal Sareddy won first place at the Geography Bee National Finals competition held at Duke University conducted by North South Foundation (NSF). Vishal attends the Woodward North campus located in Johns Creek.

Educational contests organized by NSF are designed to encourage academic excellence among Indian American children. The contests are conducted every year in two steps.Β 

First, children participate in Regional Contests held at various locations throughout the country. Participants with high scores advance to the National Finals.Β

The first, second and third place winners from a given contest are awarded scholarships of $1,000, $500 and $250 respectively, redeemable in the winners’ freshman year of college.
