Wilson Creek Elementary students in Debra Fujimoto’s kindergarten class have enjoyed learning about the significance of the Thanksgiving holiday. Students have learned why and how we celebrate Thanksgiving and how President Lincoln turned it into an official holiday. They also studied the pilgrims and their friend Squanto, who helped them learn how to survive in the New World.
On Friday, Nov. 16, students performed a Thanksgiving musical for their parents before enjoying a traditional Thanksgiving feast of turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, cranberries and pumpkin pie in the cafeteria.
