School Redistricting Map Passes Unanimously

Map leaves Johns Creek school zones unchanged.

The Fulton County School Board on Tuesday unanimously approved the North Fulton school redistricting map that was created to accommodate the new high school being built on Bethany Bend Road in Milton.

The new attendance zones in Roswell, Milton and Alpharetta were approved without change to the latest proposal and without comment. While Johns Creek high school and middle school attendance zones were changed in earlier versions of the maps, the final version left schools in Johns Creek unchanged.Β 

Johns Creek neighborhoods, including Glastonberry and Breckenridge, had mobilized in matching T-shirts for the on April 14 at Alpharetta High School when it appeared their zones might be changed for a fifth time in eight years.

"We are elated," Gregg Blotner, president of Breckenridge's homeowners association, told Patch in April when the latest map showed no changes to Johns Creek attendance zones.
