School Board Member Linda McCain to Host Community Meeting at Wilson Creek Elementary

Johns Creek's school board representative will answer questions and concerns at meeting open to the public.

Residents are invited to attend a Fulton County school board community meeting tomorrow, Wednesday, Jan. 19, at 9:30 a.m. at in Johns Creek, hosted by Linda McCain, District 5's new representative.

Every month each Fulton school board member sponsors a meeting open to all members of the community to provide the board with a chance to listen to issues that concern the public.

McCain represents schools in Johns Creek and Alpharetta. The Johns Creek schools in her district are Abbotts Hill, Barnwell, Dolvin, Findley Oaks, Medlock Bridge, Ocee, Shakerag, State Bridge Crossing, and Wilson Creek elementary schools; Autrey Mill, River Trail and Taylor Road middle schools; and Chattahoochee, Johns Creek and Northview high schools.

Before being elected to District 5 in November, McCain had more than a decade of volunteer experience in her children's schools. She was local school chair at State Bridge Crossing Elementary and served on the Johns Creek High School design review committee and on Fulton County Schools' community construction advisory committee. McCain also was co-president of Autrey Mill Middle's PTA. She has also worked as a substitute teacher in Fulton. Her term expires Dec. 31, 2014.
