School Board Keeps Millage Rate Steady

Rate to remain at 18.502.

The Fulton County School Board approved its FY 2014 millage rates on Monday. For the fourth consecutive year, the total rate of 18.502 remains unchanged.

The school board's millage consists of two combined rates –maintenance and operations (M&O) and debt service. The school board adopted an 18.502 M&O rate and a 0.0 mill debt service rate. This is expected to remain the lowest in metro Atlanta.

“Because of the school board’s sound financial management, we’re again able to keep our millage rates the same,” said Superintendent Robert Avossa in a press release. “I commend the board’s commitment to appropriately funding our school system’s budget initiatives while also being mindful of our taxpayers.”
