River Trail Celebrates Young Adolescents

This October, along with middle schools throughout the United States, in Johns Creek celebrated Month of the Young Adolescent to draw attention to the unique needs of 10-to-15 year olds. This year marks River Trail Middle School’s 10 year anniversary, and MOYA is a yearly tradition for the school.

According to Principal Dawn Melin, “This year’s MOYA celebration gave students and staff a chance to reflect and reminisce not only about themselves, but also to be attentive to the feelings and experiences of others.”

RTMS hosted a number of events during October to draw attention to the importance of this age group. Activities at RTMS included letters written to soldiers, Decades Day, teachers’ middle school reflections, and a culminating pep-rally for sixth-graders.
